Between two fires is awesome! And lonesome dove is on my list to read. I read a little life last year and I really wasn’t on board with the message of the book or the author’s nonchalance about the subject matter. I’m excited to see what you think about these books though!
I read Lonesome Dove last year and it shot up to my top 5 of all time. I fell in love with the cast of characters, and the writing is so good I felt like I was on the adventure with them. The end is sort of unexpected and you can look back and see the genius that McMurtry is. It’s such a good mix of genre fiction with a subtle literary bent that’s never pretentious.
I’ll also throw my hat in the ring for Between Two Fires. Easily in my top 10 standalone books of all time! One of the few books that made me even cry. I loved it.
i’ve had a little life recommended to me so many times i’d love to give it a try this year as well! personally i’d recommend red rising by pierce brown if you’re into sci fi! (also yes please give priory a try again it’s so good)
I also keep hearing about a little life, I think I legally have to read it this year lol. Also--my sister LOVED red rising! She's been pushing me to read it for awhile, maybe I'll borrow her copy. : ))

Hey thanks for sharing! I think I’m most excited about between two fires, I love religious imagery in a horror/dark setting.
